When we think of fashion classics we think of black, we think of A-line, we think of camel trench coats. But then there are other looks that one wouldn't call classics, that have become just that. Looks that came into fashion a few years ago and remain top sellers. These looks include:

 1. Espadrilles:

 Espadrilles are hot summer and spring shoes for both men and women. They are traditionally made of coloured clothe and have hemp soles. They come in a wide variety of colours making them easy to pair with almost any outfit. They are also extremely comfortable. While traditionally they are flat, wedged espadrilles have been a hot ticket item for women for many years. They often have ribbons that tie up a woman's ankle.

 2. Quilted jackets:

 Quilted jackets are ideal for autumn. They are made of thin material but have a nylon shell which protects from wind and rain.  3. Checkered shirts:

 Checkered shirts have seen a long lasting rerun over the past few years. What was a popular style in the early nineties has come back in full force. Their lumberjack feel has the ability to dress down any outfit and is well paired with everything from khaki trousers to black skinny jeans and a leather bomber jacket. As with any shirt, checkered ones come in a wide variety of colours from pinks, to browns to reds.

 4. Military coats:

 Army green cover-ups have been all the rage for what feels like a decade now. They come in full length,  length and even sleeveless styles. Some have hoods, some are long, others are short, but most of them have lots of pockets, buttons and draw-strings. A style that once was restricted to casual wear has now been incorporated into more conservative looks.

 5. Silver cufflinks:

 Unlike the styles above, silver cufflinks didn't just come into style in the past decade, but they most certainly are a classic. And with men and women wanting to dress up their casual looks more these days it seems like everyone needs a pair of classic silver cufflinks.

Surprisingly enough, modest swimwear is becoming more popular with young women these days. Toward The Fashion Show

 FASHIONS for the RUNWAY
 As the maker, you may or may not have to choose the dresses for the runway. Based on your show concept, the stylists, designers, or provisions might choose the merchandise. In any situation, make sure you are familiar with all the garments in the fashion show. Each garment should be returned in the same situation it originated. Take photos at the fashion model and have a list of all items on each model. When they come back their outfit to you after the show, check for all pieces. This way you know who is accountable for what.

 PRODUCTION
 To get any show ready for the runway, you will need to harden a location to host the event, a runway or stage, lighting, music and of course, hair & makeup. Nightclubs, hotels, schools, drama hall and malls are accepted fashion show venues. However inspired spaces can be curved into runways. You may have a DJ to mix the music, a beauty salon sponsoring the hair/makeup, and a multimedia screen on the runway with store logos. Whatever your technical details, make sure the whole thing is experienced and ready to go earlier than the show.

 SCRIPT

 This entire show should be printed out in a script format. Whether you have an emcee dialogue comments on each outfit or music timed out for each individual scene, the model and fashion order is enormously important to have written down. This will make it much easier to call your show and follow along with the program.

 VIP SPONSORS
 On occasion, you may work with sponsors paying for the event who want more publicity onsite. Hang their banners, good deal promotional gift bags, and/or host a VIP reception for the sponsor's guests. If the sponsor is a restaurant or alcohol/beverage company, feature their creation exclusively.

 With methodical planning and creativity, a fashion show can be a vast success. And so much better than a boring movie!

 Lauren Conrad, star of MTV reality show The Hills, actually has a pretty, laid-back California style. But her much anticipated line the Lauren Conrad Collection was a let-down. Lovely LC seemed to be going out of her way to design as boring a basics collection as could be had  an entire line made of plain and unflattering jersey cotton for some offensively high prices. That hasnt stopped her from putting out another collection with US store Kohls this autumn though, and unfortunately the second go-round is just as generic.

 Lindsay Lohan seems to feel that being a washed-up celebrity has-been with stringy blonde extensions gives her the right to nominate herself Marilyn Monroes style representative on earth. No matter how hard she tries though she certainly cant match the lovely Monroe, even if she creepily named her line of leggings 6126 after the screen sirens birthday. Lohans line features leggings alone  zipper leggings, faux leather leggings, sparkly leggings, shiny leggings. Hardly the most challenging item to design, they look like something a tween could customise with a glue gun, some cheap lycra and a portfolio of Miley Cyrus paparazzi snaps.

 Mischa Barton
 If La Lohans leggings werent enough of a capsule collection, someone actually thought they could make a quick buck from Mischa Bartons boho headbands. Starting at $50, Bartons hair accessories are over-priced, poorly finished and embellished in junk. The wilted hippy flowers stink of the desperation of someone who has been putting out forgettable, lack lustre performances since The O.C. ended three years ago.

 The Jonas Brothers
 Of all the things we though the Jonas Brothers could be doing  pretending to play guitar and saving themselves for marriage  sticking their names on a tween fashion line of ruffled denim skirts was not one of them. In spite of having no fashion experience and an average age of about 20, the family-friendly JoBros have their own fashion collection of mostly Disney-prep argyle sweaters, Polo shirts and pleated denim for thirteen year old girls at WalMart. Its a strange combination though of all the celebrities listed above, its probably the most appropriately pitched and priced fashion line for the pop stars fans.
